Gang Resources/Education
The Watsonville Police Department (WPD) strives to address gang violence before it happens. With the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Partnership, WPD AND Pajaro Valley Unified School District (PVUSD) distributed a film and resource guide: "Prevention and Intervention Drug Use and Gang Violence." The resource guide (including PVUSD Discipline Policies and County wide services) can be viewed by clicking the link below, as well as the video "False Belongings." The Safe Schools/Healthy Students community initiative partnered with many other agencies throughout the county, which are listed in the resource guide. Additionally, you will find a link to the "Parents' Guide to Gangs," presented by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), and a portion of the power point used by Officers in the WPD Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU).
