MISSION STATEMENT
We, the members of the Watsonville Police Department dedicate ourselves to prevent, reduce,
and suppress crime (and the fear it instills) through the philosophy of building relationships with the people we serve. We will accomplish this by applying community policing and long term
problem solving. From our mission statement comes our motto;
"Leadership, Partnership and
Quality Service".
VALUE STATEMENT
We, the members of the Watsonville Police Department, value the institution of law, our
constitution, and the reputation of our department. As individuals, we value and depend on one
another to protect that reputation and provide fair and impartial service to our residents. We do
that by learning, implementing and modeling character qualities such as;
Honor, Alertness,
Compassion, Creativity, Responsibility, Dependability, Discretion, Enthusiasm, Gratefulness,
Initiative, Justice, Loyalty, Self-control, Thoroughness, Truthfulness and Virtue.
