Support Services Division
The Support Services Division has three areas of service; Investigations, Personnel/Training and Human Resources.
The Investigation Bureau is responsible for investigating cases involving felony crimes. While investigating homicides and other high profile cases we work closely with the District Attorney's Office and other police agencies. We also coordinate our efforts with Santa Cruz County Narcotic Enforcement Team and Santa Cruz Auto Recovery Enforcement. The Investigation Bureau is responsible for reviewing and investigating all missing persons cases. Investigators reach out to the community through ongoing investigations, crime prevention and through public information that is provided during serious cases.
Personnel and Training provides a comprehensive training program for our officers and ensures that the department continues to be compliant with all Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) mandates.
Human Resources provides management of Human Resources for the police department such as recruitment, hiring sworn and non-sworn personnel and Internal Affairs investigations. Human Resources provides over sight to the Juvenile Diversion Program, Police Activities League, Cadet Program, Volunteer in Police Services and Police Chaplain Services.
