Lieutenant Darren Thompson was raised in the Santa Cruz County area and joined the Watsonville Police Department in 1988. He has served as a Patrol Officer, Traffic/Motorcycle Officer, Field Training Officer, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, and Administrative Sergeant. In 2007 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and currently oversees the Operations Support Division.
